Ngarak Ogoh-ogoh



UNIQUE TRADITION IN BALI
“ NGARAK OGOH-OGOH” IN NGERUPUK DAY,and “CATUR BRATA PENYEPIAN” IN NYEPI DAY.

            Bali is a most beautiful island. Bali famous with tourism destination, besides that Bali has  tourism attraction. Every regency in Bali have unique tradition, but all of village in Bali have one unique tradition, it’s called “ NGARAK OGOH-OGOH” especialy for celebrate Silent Day  or “ Nyepi Day” in Balinese language.
             

Ngarak Ogoh-ogoh is one of famous tourism attraction for Balinese people. Usually, Balinese people ngarak ogoh-ogoh on the street one day before they celebrate silent day or “ Nyepi Day”. Balinese people, especialy neighborhood youth association is very enthusiasm to make ogoh-ogoh for celebrate Silent Day,or “ Nyepi Day”.
Balinese people, especialy for Hinduism believe that Ogoh-ogoh can be neutralize of Bhuta Kala in their Village. Bhuta Kala in Balinese language has same meaning with devil. Ogoh-ogoh also can be neutralize of Kala Tiga Wisesa. So, the appearance of ogoh-ogoh same with devil, or “Bhuta Kala”, in Balinese language. Ogoh-ogoh is the symbolic of Bhuta Kala.
 
Balinese people, especialy for hinduism Ngarak Ogoh – ogoh in their Village , one day before Nyepi Day , on Ngerupuk Day. Hinduism people Ngarak ogoh-ogoh in their village in the afternoon. Before, Ngarak Ogoh-ogoh , Hinduism people praying together in the temple. And then , Hinduism people Ngarak Ogoh-Ogoh as long as their village. After that, they burn the Ogoh-ogoh in the crossroad.
And after Ngarak Ogoh-ogoh , Hinduism people also have  unique tradition, it’s called “Ngerebeg” in balinese language. “Ngerebeg” Tradition has same function with “Ngarak Ogoh-Ogoh”. The function of “ Ngerebeg “ Tradition for neutralize of Bhuta Kala in their house. But “Ngerebeg “ tradition held for each in their house.
On the Nyepi Day, Balinese people doing the Catur Brata Penyepian. Catur Brata Penyepian, the first “Amati Geni” , Balinese people don’t light the fire and lamp, so the atmosphere in their environment is very dark. The people life in darkness. The second “ Amati Karya” Balinese people don’t work and nothing activities in their environment, they just relaxed. The thirdly, “Amati Lelanguan” balinese people get  fasted, during one day start from 06.00 AM in Nyepi Day until tomorrow at 06.00 AM. And the last, “Amati Lelungan” Balinese people don’t go anywhere, they just at home. Balinese people , especialy Hinduism are very enthusiasm for celebrate Nyepi Day.

” KLEPON CAKE”
You’re talking about Bali, also you’re talking about Tourism in Bali. Bali is very famous in the world. Why is the Bali famous in the world???
Beacuse Bali has many tourism destination, tourism culture, beside that Bali also famous with tourism culinary. It’s not complete , if you come to Bali just travelling, before you taste Balinese Culinary.

This is special Balinese food, it’s called” Klepon Cake”. It’s   traditional cake from Tabanan Regency. Klepon cake  are Balinese  style rice balls, stuffed with palm sugar. What is the uniqueness of this cake , guyyss??
The unique of this cake is the inside of it, there liquid sweet palm sugar that will burst up in every bite, hhhhmmmm… yummy.

            Guys, do you want to know, how to make Klepon Cake??
It’s very easy to make Klepon Cake in your sweet home. Okay,,, please look at .
Ingredient for the Klepon Cake:
*       250 gram  glutinous rice powder
*      ¾ cup lukewarm water (optionally coconut milk)
*      2-3 drops green food coloring or pandan paste
*      8 tea spoon palm sugar
*      1 cup fresh-grated coconut,
*       ½ tea spoon salt
*      150 ml water

 How to make it :
1.      Mix the glutinous rice powder with the lukewarm water and green food coloring into a firm but flexible dough.
2.      Pull off one full teaspoon of the dough and shape it into a ball with approximately 2½ cm (1 inch) in diameter.
   3.     Push a finger into the center of the ball to make a hole, and put in approximately ½ tea spoon  of the grated sugar. Seal, and roll it back into the ball shape with the palms of your hands.
    4.     Prepare all the balls and set them aside.
    5.     Prepare a pot half filled with water and bring  it   to a boil.
   6.      Drop the balls into the boiling water. Remove the balls with a spoon once they float to the water surface.
7.      Then roll the balls in the grated coconut. 
8.      It’s ready to serve.

Klepon Cake , is very nice serve with hot coffee, hot tea, ice tea, orange juice, and milk.

I think all of people in the world, love the butterfly, cause butterfly is the beautiful insect. If you want to see kind of butterfly in one pleace, so please come to Bali Butterfly Park. Unique Facts of Butterfly

For additional information, these are some of the unique facts that butterfly possessed:
1.      If the body temperature of butterfly is below 30 degree Celsius, a butterfly would not be able to fly.
2.      Butterflies are able to migrate until thousands kilometers to find a warmer place when winter comes, and then able to come back when the spring starts.
3.      Some kinds of butterflies do not eat at all because they do not have mouth. These kinds of butterflies live only by the reserve energy that they get when becoming cocoon.
4.      The size of a butterfly ranges from one-eighth inch until 12 inches.
5.      Butterfly has a long mouth for sucking food (usually nectar) which is called proboscis.
6.      The wings of butterfly are actually transparent. The colors are visible because of the brightness difference in the layers of its wings.
7.      Butterfly is an insect with perfect metamorphosis. The growth of its body starting from hatching, becoming cocoon, until transforming into a perfect butterfly is equal to a 27,000 time body growth.
Bali Butterfly Park also produces various souvenirs which are made from insects such as, Framing Butterfly, Framing Beetle, key chains made from insects, bookmark, paper weight made from transparent fiber containing butterfly, paintings from butterfly’s wings, and more.
Bali Butterfly Park opens daily from 08.00 – 17.00 WITA (Central Indonesia Time) and the last ticket sale is at 16.00 WITA. To be able to observe the butterflies’ and insects’ activities in this park, the best time for visiting is around 10.00 in the morning when they fly around the park searching for nectar. The entrance ticket in this park is divided into two categories: Rp 15.000/person for local tourists and Rp. 50.000 for foreign tourists.
